Palm Springs, Ca

I have not had a chance to do much this past week, as cousins Jim and Pat spent most of the week attending the Bob Hope Classic Golf Tournament. Since cameras are not allowed on the golf course, I stayed home. The weather was ideal for the tournament, with temperatures in the mid-70s and no wind.
But I did go out into the desert early one morning with Sami (the dog) on her walk and Jim got this picture of the moon setting over Mt. San Jacinto, which is just west of Palm Springs. There had been a lot more snow on the peak several weeks ago, but the warm weather has melted most of it.
I will be in this area for another week before heading further west.
Best wishes, Gus

Indio, CA

Last week, Betty and I sat at the table for the Full Timers chapter of the FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association) while attending the Western Region Rally in Indio, CA. We got to meet lots of people and let them know how much fun it is to be full-timing in a motor home. We sure have made lots of new friends at the rallies.

Living Desert

Yesterday I visited the Living Desert, a wildlife adventure through the deserts of the world. I got to see wildlife from deserts around the world as well as many plants. There was an endangered species carolisel to ride and a large model train layout covering almost an acre. There are camel rides, too, but I didn't ride one. For more information about the Living Desert, you can visit: www.LivingDesert.org.

Palm Spring Dog Show

Here are some other pictures from the Palm Springs Kennel Club Dog Show. As you can tell, I like the large breeds--Newfies, Irish Wolf Hounds and Great Danes.

Palm Springs Dog Show

Over the weekend, I went to the Palm Springs Kennel Club Dog Show. There were over 7,000 dogs being shown, but the best dog is the one being loved by a little girl. This Great Dane is being loved by the owner's granddaughter. Some of the dogs in this show will go on to compete next in New York at the Westminster Kennel Club Show. The Best in Show winner was Brighton Lakeridge Encore, a standard poodle.
Warmest regards, Gus.

Serenity Dental

On our trip to Lake Havasu City, AZ, I went to visit Dr. Ash Kaushesh, DDS,while cousins Jim and Pat had their teeth cleaned. In the picture at the left, Tina starts to "gas" me so Dr. Kaushesh could do some work on my mouth. I guess all the procedures went well while I slept.
Below, I got some sympathy in the front office as I was filling out the paper work to pay my bill.
I think I need to come back in six months for some follow-up work. With the care I received, I won't mind going back to this dental office.

New Friend

I made a new friend recently while I was in the Tucson area. Joyce invited Betty, Billy and me over for lunch (cousins Jim and Pat came along, too). We had a great time. The weather was great so we could sit on the patio.
Since then, we have moved to Ehrenberg, AZ, on the Colorado River. Sami is happy as she gets to play in the river. Yesterday she played in the water with another Chocolate Lab that she met last year in Indio, CA.
The temperatures here are running in the high 70s during the day and drop to 40s at night.
Warmest regards, Gus
