I have not posted in a while, since I develped a cough and sore throat several weeks ago. Must be the bug that is going around; lots of people have it, too. But Saturday, I did get to South Padre Island for the Kite Festival and took Sami to the beach. There were some really neat kite demonstration set to music and of course lots of color. The weather was perfect--72 degrees with a nice breeze coming off the Gulf. (The water you see in the picture with the kites is Laguna Madre, on the west side of Padre Island. )
Sami enjoyed running on the beach, but found the water to be a little cold yet. Maybe she will have to come back in March when all the college students are here. After all the activity, I took Sami and cousins Jim and Pat to Clinton's Beachside Bar for a late lunch. Not many places let us animals dine with their friends.
